The Cincinnati Bengals have announced that wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell will be unable to attend the team’s Sunday clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers due to COVID-19-related reasons. Assistant wide receivers coach Troy Walters will assume Bicknell’s responsibilities for the game.

The team didn’t specify if Bicknell contracted the virus or if he simply came into close contact with someone who has the virus. Either way, hopefully Bicknell is well and is able to get through this without any serious effects.

Bicknell has been with the Bengals since the 2018 season, and he’s been instrumental in the development of Tyler Boyd, Auden Tate and Tee Higgins into impact pass-catchers in this offense. He’s had prior stints as a receivers coach for the Eagles, 49ers, Bills. He’s also coached tight ends for the Bills and Chiefs. He even had a brief stint as the Chiefs’ offensive line coach.

Get well soon, coach.
