In a corresponding move, the team elevated offensive guard Quinton Spain and cornerback Jalen Davis from the practice squad to the active roster for tomorrow’s game vs. Washington Football Team.
As practice squad players being elevated to the active roster for the game, both Spain and Davis automatically will revert to the practice squad on Monday. Cincinnati’s roster now stands at 53 players.
In addition, safety Trayvon Henderson has been reverted to the practice squad from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
As for Mixon, NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport says he’s expected to be on IR for just three weeks and return for the final stretch of the Bengals’ 2020 season.
#Bengals RB Joe Mixon is doing everything he can to get back on the field, but the goal is to make sure he’s 100% healthy when he returns. Foot injuries can be tricky. Source said the belief is his stay on IR will be just 3 weeks, and he’ll return for the end of the 2020 season.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 21, 2020
Mixon, a fourth-year player out of Oklahoma, suffered a right foot injury in Game 6 vs. the Colts. He started six games this season and recorded 119 rushes for 428 yards and three scores, as well as 21 catches for 138 yards and another touchdown.
Thanks for all the wishes & prayers! I appreciate y’all and will be back better than ever— ⚡️Primetime!!!⚡️ (@Joe_MainMixon) November 21, 2020
