That certainly was a football game. Fans who endured got a treat by being reminded that Colt McCoy is still in the NFL as he came in relief for Daniel Jones about halfway through the game against the Giants.
Of course, the Bengals were dealing with their ow issues at quarterback with Brandon Allen replacing Joe Burrow. The story of the game really became which backup could do enough to not lose the game, and that answer was the guy everyone would’ve sworn was out of the NFL. That made for quite the reactions from fans.
Starting hot
Brandon Wilson refused to let the Bengals struggle to get their first points of the day. He took his first kickoff back 103 yards for a touchdown. It may have been the best part of the day for a Cincinnati team that didn’t have many more bright spots on the day.

Special teams player of the week on his first two plays geez That #40 is a bad man!!!
— Dj Reader (@Djread98) November 29, 2020
When you don't have a Joe Burrow, you just get the Brandon Wilson 103-yard kickoff return for a TD to take QB out of equation.

B will go krazy!!!!!!!!
— ⚡️Primetime!!!⚡️ (@Joe_MainMixon) November 29, 2020
Wow! Nice return, Brandon Wilson! In an era where kickoff return value is diminished because of rules, the guy continues to be a weapon! TD return in each of the last 2 seasons.
— Anthony Cosenza (@CJAnthonyCUI) November 29, 2020
Lol and we wait longer for Brandon Allen
Vonn Bell creates an opportunity
Bell has been heavily criticized for when he gets beat in coverage this season, but the veteran safety has proven his is extremely valuable in other areas. For instance, he forced a fumble that he then recovered. The return also gave a struggling Bengals offense a short field that resulted in a field goal.

Vonn Bell might've just made a huge play. He was so quick in picking that up and running.
— Goodberry (@JoeGoodberry) November 29, 2020
Would you look at that. The Bengals have the lead
— Nick Manchester (@NickManchester9) November 29, 2020
Vonn Bell's turnover turns into a 44-yard Randy Bullock field goal and the Bengals take a 10-7 lead.
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) November 29, 2020
Hell yeah @Vonn make a play!!
— Dj Reader (@Djread98) November 29, 2020
Ok Von!!!!

Von. Bell. That is all @Bengals

Rookie appreciation
Tee Higgins certainly missed Burrow on the day, but he and Allen were able to hook up for a late touchdown that at least got the Bengals within striking distance. Higgins has had a fantastic rookie campaign, and even though it may not maintain the same trajectory, he is still capable of showing off.
Fifth TD on the season for @teehiggins5!

Brandon Allen hits Tee Higgins for a touchdown pass and pull within two at 19-17 Giants. #IthinkIllgoforawalk pic.twitter.com/Bxtn8fnf2C

The rookie hauls in his 5th touchdown of the season to bring the Bengals to within 2 points of the Giants.
Allen knew he wanted Higgins before the snap but had to wait for Higgins to get out of the trash in the middle of the defense. Good job by both.
— Goodberry (@JoeGoodberry) November 29, 2020
Teeeeeee
— Dj Reader (@Djread98) November 29, 2020
Predictable
Cincinnati actually ended up having a shot at the end of the game. They scored what seemed to be a garbage time touchdown to put the team within two points of the Giants. The defense ended up doing its job with some help by a boneheaded penalty from New York, and then Alex Erickson came to life on a return that setup the offense at midfield.
Then Allen got sacked and fumbled.
The huge shift in feeling obviously made for quite the reactions.

Thought Burrow's arrival would mean the complete removal of 90s vibes for a long time.
— Chris Roling (@Chris_Roling) November 29, 2020
Welp.
Zac is Dalton 2.0. He doesn’t elevate. You can win some games with him. Even look great in some. But he will never elevate anyone around him. Ever. Make the move now Bengals. Don’t wait

Risking games in the middle of a pandemic so an offensive-minded coach can post 155 total yards at 3.4 yards per play has me TIRED, you guys.

And, first play, sack, fumble.
— Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr) November 29, 2020
Now ballgame.
Two teams dedicated to out-badding each other.
Glad I can laugh at the Bengals and not just cry. L.O.L.
