With four games left in the regular season, the Bengals can almost field a decent 7-on-7 scrimmage with their players on the Reserve/Injured list. But their active roster appear to be pretty healthy leading up to their Week 14 game against the also wounded Dallas Cowboys.
On offense, Tee Higgins (hamstring) is the only starter who may not play in this game. Higgins is listed as questionable after being limited in practice throughout the week, but head coach Zac Taylor is optimistic about the rookie receiver being able to play.
Things may not be that hopeful for Brandon Wilson (groin), who did not practice at all this week. Wilson is also listed as questionable, but he seems more doubtful to dress. Alex Erickson would probably take over for kickoff return duties, but without Wilson, the Bengals may need to elevate a defensive back off of the practice squad. The defense won’t have Shawn Williams this week as he serves his one-game suspension, so unless Wilson unexpectedly plays, the Bengals will need another safety behind Jessie Bates III and Vonn Bell for this game.
Mackensie Alexander (knee) is questionable after injuring his knee on Thursday, but he was at least limited on Friday, so he could be fine for Sunday. If Alexander doesn’t play, this could push Darius Phillips into the slot in his first game back from I.R.
Drew Sample was back at practice after missing Thursday for a personal matter. Alex Redmond (concussion) should be fine to dress after missing last week, but he probably isn’t going to start with both Xavier Su’a-Filo and Quinton Spain healthy.
