Bengals fans have been debating on whether or not the Bengals can bring back a coach with only four wins in two years.
Well, it turns out that argument is moot, as Zac Taylor now has five wins in two years.
Win number five was a big one for Taylor. The Bengals defeated the Steelers on Monday night in a game that might ending up costing Pittsburgh the division crown.
That was a big win for the Bengals. Not only have the Bengals been winless against Pittsburgh over the last few years, but the Bengals had to play with their franchise quarterback, electric running back, left tackle, and (for most of the game) their leading receiver.
Ryan Finley started the game despite getting buried in the depth chart earlier this year. Taylor developed a game plan that mitigated Finley’s weaknesses.
The Bengals also had great energy on defense, which led to turnovers, pressures, and kept Ben Roethlisberger to one of the worst games of his career.
The Bengals even got JuJu Smith-Schuster to cancel his tradition of dancing on the home teams’ midfield logo before every away game.
Is this the same Bengals team that has struggled against the Giants and the Cowboys? Has Taylor turned over a new leaf for the Bengals?
More importantly, did Taylor do enough to save his job?
Many Bengals fans have been calling for his job, but a win over the hated Steelers can be extremely persuasive.
Is this win enough to buy Taylor another year?
