However, Sunday’s game isn’t the only connection the two teams have.
On Wednesday, the Texans announced that they are meeting with former Bengals coach Marvin Lewis to interview for their head-coaching gig.

Lewis has spent the last two seasons on the Arizona State coaching staff, but he’s been garnering a lot of interest from NFL teams for head coaching positions.
The time that Lewis has spent in the college game since 2019 has given him even more appeal in the leagues since he has learned a youthful injection of college concepts and new play designs.
The last time Lewis was a coach in the NFL was in 2018 when he was still with the Bengals. During his 16 seasons in Cincinnati, Lewis built a .518 winning percentage and led the Bengals to five consecutive playoff appearances. Unfortunately, all five of those appearances ended in Wild Card weekend losses. The Bengals ended up being 0-7 in in the playoffs under Lewis, and two of those losses came against the Texans.
As for the Texans’ opening, that is a very attractive job since they have a star quarterback under center in Deshaun Watson. They may not a ton of draft capital to boot, but having a franchise passer in place is a huge plus. Whom they hire as their new general manager may also impact whether or not Lewis lands the job.
I wouldn’t be shocked to hear of more teams that want to interview Lewis in the near future, but it looks like the Texans are considering him and Lewis may soon be patrolling an NFL sideline as a head coach once again.
