Bengals vs. Texans Injury Report: Brandon Allen on track to return

The Texans won’t know which quarterback they’ll face until Sunday comes around.

Just hours before Santa Claus comes to town, the Cincinnati Bengals got an early Christmas present.

Brandon Allen (knee) had a full practice on Thursday for the first time since suffering a bone bruise two Sundays ago against the Miami Dolphins. Allen was limited on Wednesday, so as long as he doesn’t have a setback on Friday, he should be able to play this weekend against the Houston Texans.

Head coach Zac Taylor did not say whether or not Allen will start over Ryan Finley if he’s able to play, but that should be the expectation. Taylor also said that Joe Mixon (foot) will not play this week either. Mixon can still play in Week 17, and Taylor has not officially ruled that out.

While Allen was able to get back out there with no limitations, Tyler Boyd (concussion), Jordan Evans (hamstring), Darius Phillips (knee), and Logan Wilson (ankle) did not practice. Taylor ruled Wilson out on Thursday, and it’s highly unlikely that Boyd, Evans, or Phillips will be able to play either.

B.J. Finney suffered an abdomen injury before or during Thursday’s practice and is listed as a DNP. Finney hasn’t played an offensive snap for the Bengals yet since joining the team in late October.

Bengals Injury Report

For the Texans, it looks like the majority of their roster will be good to go Sunday. The only player who didn’t practice Thursday was running back Duke Johnson, who remains unlikely to play this week due to a neck injury.

Starting cornerback Phillip Gaines was limited for the second straight day, so he looks questionable to play.

Everyone else that was limited Wednesday was able to go full today.
