Many NFL fans couldn’t wait to see what was supposed to be Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa face off for the first time in their careers. Both quarterbacks were considered two of the best prospects coming out of college (excluding Tagovailoa’s injury) in quite some time.
An ACL injury suffered by Burrow two weeks ago squandered those plans, but it appears that didn’t stop Tagovailoa from sending his best to the Bengals QB selected before him.
Tua Tagovailoa said he reached out to Joe Burrow after his injury. Of course, Tua had his own ordeal last year: "Injuries like that are never fun... I know he'd love to be able to go out there and compete against us. I sent him my prayers. I wish him the best."

Tagovailoa, who went fifth overall to the Dolphins, knows all about how bad a season ending injury at this point in the season can be. Last year, he went down with a hip injury that left him unable to finish his final college football season. It also left him less than 100 percent coming into the season.
These two had a pretty fierce rivalry in college, as LSU and Alabama were two of the top teams in the entire NCAA before Tagovailoa’s injury last season. However, it never appeared that there was ever any bad blood between these two. They just seem to be two great people who happen to be very completive and good at football.
The Miami quarterback has started in three games this season after sitting behind Ryan Fitzpatrick most of the season. He also missed last week with a thumb injury after being benched in the team’s Week 11 loss to the Broncos. It seems like he has a chance to play this week, though.
Hopefully the schedule makers don’t keep these two teams from playing each other much longer, because Burrow vs. Tagovailoa is going to be one hot ticket for years to come when both are healthy.
