Chalk Talk: How Patrick Queen and Kenneth Murray fit into the Bengals defense

What the top linebackers in the NFL Draft could do for the Cincinnati defense

The Bengals not only hold the 1st pick in the NFL Draft, they hold the 1st pick in rounds 1-6. Regardless of what some might want you to think, the Bengals are taking Joe Burrow with the 1st overall pick, but what will they do with the 33rd?

Linebacker has been a need for this team for multiple years. Last year LSU’s Devin White and Michigan’s Devin Bush were top options for the Bengals in Round 1, but both were gone when the team selected offensive tackle Jonah Williams.

2019 3rd Rounder Germaine Pratt looked very good in later in the season, but the Bengals could afford to put another talented ‘backer next to him.

The top options are LSU’s Patrick Queen and Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray.

In this podcast, we will look at what the Bengals ask of their linebackers and how Queen and Murray can contribute in these areas.

  • Who is better against the run?
  • Who is better in pass coverage?
  • Who is a better pass rusher?

In the video I will show examples of Queen and Murray in all of these situations.
