Finally, Super Bowl LIV has arrived.
The final game of the 2020 NFL season will see the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs clash with the defensive juggernaut that is the San Francisco 49ers.
Ahead of the game, we gathered the Cincy Jungle to make picks for who wins today’s game.
- Jason Marcum: 49ers 30-24
- Patrick Carlisle: Chiefs 42-24
- Nathan Beighle: Chiefs 38-27
- Patrick Judis: Chiefs 42-35
- Nick Manchester: 49ers 31-28
- John Sheeran: Chiefs 38-30
- Anthony Cosenza:
This is a classic battle of flash versus substance. The Chiefs have the offensive firepower to beat anyone and overcome any deficit. They’ve proven that throughout this year’s postseason bracket.
On the other sideline, it’s hard to find a weakness on the 49ers’ roster. Current NFL bottom-feeders see San Francisco’s blueprint of using high picks on players for the trenches and it has paid off in spades.
The Chiefs haven’t seen a defense that can frustrate a quarterback like that of the 49ers, while San Francisco won’t be able to cruise to an easy victory no matter how many points they score, or how little game clock they give Patrick Mahomes.
A lot of signs point to the 49ers adding to their dynasty, but the league is currently dominated by competent quarterback play. The 49ers May shoot out to an early lead, but Mahomes will get them back and force Jimmy Garoppolo to make plays in crunch time. I’m not sure he’ll be up to that task.
Prediction: Chiefs 27-23
