Upon officially making A.J. Green as their franchise player, the Bengals have announced they’ve extended tender offers to four of their restricted free agents. The players are as follows:

  • TE Cethan Carter
  • OG Alex Redmond
  • DT Josh Tupou
  • S Brandon Wilson

Carter, a third-year player, originally joined the Bengals as a CFA signee after the 2017 NFL Draft. He appeared in 15 games last season, mostly contributing on special teams.

Redmond, a third-year player, originally joined the Bengals as a CFA signee after the 2016 NFL Draft. He was the team’s starting right guard for the 2018 season but appeared in just three games last season.

Tupou, a third-year player, originally joined the Bengals as a CFA signee after the 2017 NFL Draft. He signed a one-year deal with the team as an exclusive rights free agent last offseason and proceeded to play 465 snaps in all 16 games as a versatile piece along the Bengals’ defensive line.

Wilson, a third-year player, was a sixth-round pick by the Bengals in the 2017 NFL Draft. He signed a one-year deal with the team as an exclusive rights free agent last offseason. He played in 12 games and became the NFL leader in kickoff return average before being placed on the Reserved Injured list with a hand injury.

The level of tenders for each player has not been announced, but according to Geoff Hobson, the total cost of the four tenders will be approximately $8.6 million, which indicates that each offer would be an original round tender. The original round tender is the lowest tender offer a restricted free agent can receive from their own team.
