The Bengals rang in the official start of free agency by making a couple of what appear to be correlating moves. First, Cincinnati moved on from offensive lineman John Miller just a season after signing him to a three-year deal. Then the team went out and signed Xavier Su’a-Filo, who was most recently a backup for the Cowboys.
On the surface, this appears to be a lateral move. Miller was never impressive for the Bengals, but he wasn’t a complete liability like some players we’ve seen in the past at that position.
Su’a-Filo also wasn’t exactly a top free agent. He spent the past two seasons as a backup for the Cowboys after being drafted by the Texans. He has been a solid and reliable guard when asked to be.
It isn’t necessarily a bad move by the Bengals, but it is telling that this staff felt strongly enough about what they saw from Miller that they felt the need to move on and replace him with a similar caliber of player. Su’a-Filo will be fresh blood in the competition at right guard for a team that really needs their offensive line to step up for their rookie quarterback next season.
How do you feel about the move from Miller to Su’a-Filo?

Excited for the change!
They should’ve just kept John Miller
Not impressed because it seems like a lateral move.
I don’t care who plays guard as long as they protect Joe Burrow next season.
