Darqueze Dennard signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, B.W. Webb was released, and who knows what the team will do with Dre Kirkpatrick. Combine all three of those and the secondary was looking like a point of interest for the Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft.

While it still could be, they’re starting to fill out the backline in free agency.

After bring in on Trae Waynes to help fill Dennard’s spot, the Bengals have also signed Mackensie Alexander, another cornerback from the Minnesota Vikings.

Alexander, according to Pro Football Focus, is one of just five cornerbacks to record 500 or more snaps and not commit a single penalty this past season. Talk about impressive. He will come on for a mere $4 million too and should enter as a top-three

The 26-year-old former second-round pick is betting on himself. If he comes in and dominates, he may be looking at a much more valuable long-term contract. With the Bengals, he’ll be given every chance to do just that.

That said, do you like the addition of the four-year pro that started four games in Minnesota last year? Vote below!
