Are you suffering from the no sports blues in the midst of COVID-19?
While you’re staying home to keep the spread of the coronavirus down, you might as well hunker down and watch some old Bengals games.
Since the NFL has made Game Pass free until May 31, you can now watch every game from every season since 2009 for free.
With 160 Bengals games to chose from, how will you decide which games to watch? That’s easy, we’ve already decided for you. Below are ten games for you to go back to while you’re “working from home.”
Don’t worry, we won’t tell your boss.
Bengals vs. Jets, Week 13 2019
The first win of the Zac Taylor era couldn’t have come at a better time. The Bengals waited three and a half months for their first win of 2019. It was Andy Dalton’s first game back after his short stint on he bench, so it was a meaningful game for several reasons.
Bengals at Dolphins, Week 16 2019
Even though the Bengals lost this game in overtime, the fourth quarter alone is worth the watch. The 16 points that the Bengals scored in the last 6 minutes was nothing short of miraculous. Perhaps the fact that they lost in overtime makes this game even more legendary, since it clinched the first overall pick in the 2020 draft. A miraculous comeback and Joe Burrow? Say no more.
Bengals vs. Buccaneers, Week 8 2018
One of the last wins of the Marvin Lewis era, it might have been one of the most exciting. In typical Lewis fashion, the Bengals blew a 34-16 lead with 17 minutes left in the game. The Buccaneers tied the game at 34 apiece with 70 seconds left in regulation, but a last second field goal from Randy Bullock secured the last win of the season before things went south.
Bengals at Falcons, Week 4 2018
After defeating the Falcons in Atlanta, it looked like 2018 would be an incredible season. Bummer.
Dalton’s 337 and three touchdowns, Tyler Boyd’s 11 catches for 100 yards, and A.J. Green’s go ahead touchdown in the final moments of the game made it an instant classic.
It was also the last game with a healthy Green and Tyler Eifert for the Bengals that we will ever see.
Bengals at Ravens, Week 17, 2017
Even though the Bengals’ playoff hopes were dead by this point, but they still found a way to dash the Ravens’. The iconic Boyd touchdown reception sent the Bills to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars to flow into Bengals players’ charities.
Bengals vs. Seahawks, Week 5 2015
You can rest easy knowing the outcome of this game. The Bengals scored 17 unanswered points to overcome a halftime deficit. With no timeouts and 24 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Dalton scrambled for a one-yard gain on third down, forcing the field goal team to run on the field and kick a last-second field goal to force overtime. The Bengals won the game on another Mike Nugent field goal, this time banking it off the upright and scoring.
Bengals at Steelers, Week 8 2015
The Bengals looked to extend their winning streak to seven straight in Pittsburgh. The Bengals won the first of three match ups against the Steelers that season by scoring ten points in the fourth quarter.
Bengals vs. Broncos, Week 16 2014
In one of the few happy Monday Night games in recent years, the Bengals fended off the reigning AFC Champions. Peyton Manning threw four interceptions, and Dre Kirkpatrick ran one of them back for a touchdown in the waning minutes of the game. This game lead to the Bengals going 10-5-1, and clinching a fifth-seed in the playoffs that year.
Bengals vs. Ravens, Week 17 2012
There’s something about the Bengals beating the Ravens in Week 17.
The Bengals were trounced 44-13 in Baltimore in Week 1 that year. The Bengals defeated the eventual Super Bowl champions in their last meeting, forcing their way into the playoffs for the second year in a row.
Bengals vs. Jaguars, Week 5 2011
The Bengals, backed by rookies Dalton and Green, scored 17 points in the fourth quarter for their second win of their five-game win streak. The momentum would pave the way for the first of five straight playoff berths for the Bengals.
Bengals vs. Steelers, Week 3 2009
Who doesn’t love a good old win against the Steelers? The Bengals swept the Steelers in 2009, but this is the more entertaining game of the two.
The Bengals fell behind 13-0 early in the second quarter, but came from behind to pull out a 23-20 win.
Not only is it fun to watch the Bengals beat the Steelers, but it’s fun to watch Bengals greats like Chad Johnson and Shayne Graham towards the end of their time in Cincinnati.
