Chalk Talk: Day 3 defensive options

The Bengals could find some key defensive players late in the draft.

The Bengals hit defense hard in free agency, but they may not be done yet. They could go after some defensive players in the second or third round of the NFL Draft, but if they don’t, day three should be loaded with defensive talent

All offseason Bengals fans have been talking about finding a linebacker who excels in coverage. Well, look no further than Purdue’s Markus Bailey. He is an excellent athlete who understands how to read the quarterback’s indicators.

Baylor defensive tackle James Lynch and Michigan safety Khaleke Hudson have the versatility that defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is looking for and would be great additions to his evolving unit.

Parnell Motley was not invited to the combine, but has started to get some buzz in recent weeks. The Oklahoma cornerback has gone face to face with some of the nation’s top wide receivers and come out on the winning end.

Like Motley, Temple’s Harrison Hand excels in man coverage, but Minnesota’s Chris Williamson brings something a little different to the table. Williamson is a true slot cornerback who plays the run like a linebacker, but still excels in coverage.

Check out the video to see for yourself the talent of these defenders.
