The 2020 NFL Draft is almost here, so let’s take a look at exactly when the Bengals will be on the clock from April 23-25.
Everyone knows Cincinnati holds the No. 1 overall selection, where Joe Burrow is widely expected to be the pick.
Because the Bengals were the only two-win team in 2020, they’ll have the first pick of every round, including the 33rd overall selection. That’s practically a first-round pick since several such prospects are bound to fall into Day 2 of the draft, so the Bengals have a great opportunity to get two first-round-caliber prospects with their first two picks.
It’s not unheard of for a first-round prospect to fall into Round 3, where the Bengals hold the 65th overall selection, but this hasn’t been a kind round to the Bengals recently. Will Clarke, Paul Dawson, Jordan Willis, Nick Vigil and Malik Jefferson are some of the names taken in this round since 2014. They do have some hits though in Sam Hubbard
As for Day 3 if the draft, the Bengals have four selections from Rounds 4-7, but don’t be surprised if that number expands through trade downs. The Bengals made 10 selections last year and 11 in each of the previous two seasons. The Bengals have made seven or fewer selections in a draft just once (2016) since 2000, so history suggests they will make more than seven picks next week.
Now, here’s a recap all the picks Cincinnati currently has for this year’s draft.
