Chalk Talk: Scouting how the Ravens use formations and motions

New, comments

What offensive formations and motions tell a defense.

Every offense has formation tendencies.

The reason this is the case is the same reason why offenses run multiple formations to begin with. Certain formations are better for certain plays than others.

In this video, I use the Ravens to talk about the different qualities of formations and what they mean. I talk about gaps, fullbacks, h-backs, and running back alignments. Finally I talk about motions. After all, running a motion creates a new formation.

Check out the video on the Ravens’ formations and motions and what plays they like to run out of certain alignments.
