With the first pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Tee Higgins, a wide receiver from Clemson University.
Higgins will help round out arguably the strongest unit on the team. With A.J. Green, Auden Tate, Tyler Boyd, and John Ross in addition to Higgins, the Bengals will look to give Burrow all the threats he needs to make Cincinnati a playoff team.
That said, while some teams may be reducing or canceling their offseason workouts, Higgins is looking to ramp his up. He’ll be training with Chad Johnson, the greatest wide receiver in Bengals history, in a few short week.
It won’t be just a 1-on-1 with Higgins though. Per Johnson’s tweet, it will be a slew of the most talented rookie receivers. The four that Johnson named were all first- or second-round picks.

This hasn’t been the first time Johnson has mentioned Higgins. The potential Hall of Fame receiver was pissed when Higgins fell out of the first round and then thrilled when he landed with the Bengals.
The Bengals all-time leader in receiving yards, Johnson has maintained his ties to the Queen City, something many top-tier stars don’t oftentimes do. Have you ever really heard a player continually involved with Cincinnati sports like Johnson is?
As for Higgins, he’s projected to slide in as the team’s No. 4 receiver. In a loaded locker room for receivers, Higgins will have competition, but his upside combined with his speed and route running may elevate into the top-three quickly.
That said, let’s hope this Higgins-Johnson duo actually hits the gridiron. With Johnson at cornerback, those videos are sure to be filled with some thrilling highlights.
