The NFL has confirmed that all 32 teams will open training camp on July 28th.
On Saturday, NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent sent an email to teams notifying them that the league was ready to open camp. The following are the report dates for three groups of players reporting over the next two weeks:
- Rookies - July 21
- Quarterbacks and injured players - July 23
- All other players - July 28
Currently, the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans are schedule to have rookies report on Monday. Those two get to report a day earlier because they’ll open the 2020 regular season on Thursday, Sept. 10th. All other teams can have rookies report as early as Tuesday.
That means we should see the Cincinnati Bengals’ rookies and injured players back in Cincinnati this coming week, which should include No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow, and possibly A.J. Green since he’s recovering from ankle surgery.
The NFL and NFLPA are still working on how to deal with the coronavirus, such as testing and quarantine procedures.
But for now, everything is full steam ahead as camps get set to open with the 2020 season closing in.
