With NFL rosters set to be cut down to just 80 players, the Cincinnati Bengals need to cut four guys to hit that number.
On Sunday, they took the first step toward doing so, as the team announced cornerback Isiah Swann has been waived due to a failed physical.
Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Dartmouth following the 2020 NFL Draft, Swann finished his college career as the school’s all-time leader in interceptions (17) and pick-sixes (4).
Unfortunately, the FCS star did not receiver an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine, and his pro day was canceled due to the coronavirus, which is also now likely costing him a chance to compete for a spot on the Bengals’ 53-man roster or practice squad.
Hopefully, Swann gets a chance to catch on with another NFL team.
As for the Bengals, they now have nine cornerbacks on the roster as training camp begins next week.
