Over the weekend, it was reported that the Bengals would host free agent Mike Daniels, and that a deal would likely come if the visit went well.
So far, no deal has been reached, but it still looks very likely that Daniels will soon be a Bengal.
During his Tuesday meeting with the media, head coach Zac Taylor gave a brief update on Daniels and what looks like an imminent deal getting done.
Taylor said he expects Mike Daniels to sign, just hasn't yet. Will comment more once that becomes official.

Daniels would be a big addition to a defensive line that’s absolutely loaded, though it needs more depth on the interior after Josh Tupou opted out of the 2020 season. Fellow backup Renell Wren is currently on the NFI list, so the Bengals just need some bodies, but Daniels would be someone who can actually make this unit better.

Mike Daniels career grades (2012-2019):
86.0 PFF grade
84.6 run defense grade

The concern with Daniels is that he’s been banged up over the last two years, but he won’t be asked to play a starter’s amount of snaps in Cincinnati with Geno Atkins and D.J. Reader getting more of the defensive tackle snaps. Daniels can be a spark off the bench that also helps keep Atkins and Reader fresh for what hopes to be a rebound season for the Bengals that sees them playing meaningful games into December.
