As training camp rolls on for the Bengals, A.J. Green remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
According to Geoff Hobson, Green was not able to practice Thursday and won’t take part in Friday’s team scrimmage, the first Cincinnati has had in camp. Green tweaked his hamstring earlier this week.
Day 2 in pads. AJ not up as expected since he’s not scrimmaging tomorrow. Scrimmage is on field and not in stadium

Green missed all of last season with an ankle injury suffered on the first day of training camp, so the Bengals are doing their best to make sure a similar setback doesn’t happen again this year.
On Tuesday, head coach Zac Taylor shared an interesting quote on Green’s status moving forward.
Interesting quote from Zac Taylor on A.J. Green: "I've seen him practice for two days. I saw enough to get us to the first game."

As for Shawn Williams, who was carted off the field earlier this week with a calf injury, he was able to do some work on the rehab field today, a sign that he shouldn’t be sidelined too long.

The hope is both of these veterans will be ready to go in Week 1 vs. the Chargers, which is a little over three weeks away from now. The Bengals could probably overcome Williams being out for a week since they signed Vonn Bell this offseason.
