The Bengals defense continues to take its lumps on the injury front.
Linebacker Jordan Evans was carted off the field during Tuesday’s practice. Evans went down after engaging with running back Trayveon Williams in a blitz pickup drill.
His injury didn’t appear to be serious.

For what it’s worth, Shawn Williams was the last player to get carted off the practice field and he’s been back on the rehab field for the last several practices. Sometimes the cart is very bad, sometimes it’s just precautionary. For Evans’ case, it appears to be the latter.
Still, Evans was getting plenty of reps this training camp with three rookies joining his position group. Any missed time from him means more reps for Logan Wilson, Akeem Davis-Gaither, and Markus Bailey.
In other news, A.J. Green was spotted on the rehab field performing drills, and Joe Mixon, Carlos Dunlap, and Carl Lawson were joining him. It appears to be a veteran’s day off for Mixon, Dunlap and Lawson.

Dunlap and Lawson have been giving left tackle Jonah Williams plenty of valuable reps this camp, so keep them fresh as the season closes in is critical. The same goes for Mixon, who hopes to sign a contract extension before Week 1.
