Joe Mixon, A.J. Green among Bengals out for team’s scrimmage

The Bengals will scrimmage at PBS without a few of their stars.

The Cincinnati Bengals will scrimmage tonight at Paul Brown Stadium.

In order to supplement the canceled preseason, the Bengals made an official scrimmage. Two weeks away from the start of the 2020 season, the Bengals are looking primed to improve on their mere two wins from 2019.

That said, to no one’s surprise, A.J. Green will be out. Even if Green wasn’t coming off an injury he likely would still be on the sideline in order to give the younger, up-and-coming players a chance to shine.

Star running back Joe Mixon was among several that will sit as well.

Leader and No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow was the first on the field for the scrimmage. He’ll enter the season with huge expectations, and hopefully he’ll be able to figure out any kinks in his game during this exercise.

That said, one other star won’t lace up for the scrimmage tonight either.

Expect a few solid takeaways as the team will be set to make their 53-man roster cuts. The officially roster must be in before next Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
