The big loss is Geno Atkins being ruled out with a shoulder injury which kept him out of practice all week. He was seen working on the rehab field on Friday, so at least the injury appears to be a minor setback in the grand scheme of things.
Shawn Williams (calf) will also not play as he missed all of practice this week as well. Williams has consistent worked on the rehab field this week and appears close to returning as well.
LeShaun Sims (personal) hasn’t practiced this week either but is listed as doubtful. Having dealt with a personal matter this week, it’s unclear if he’ll be ready to go on Sunday.
Mike Daniels had been dealing with a groin injury, but after being limited on Thursday, he’s now off the injury report and figures to start in Atkins’ place at 3-technique.
The Chargers’ injury report has a lot more ambiguity behind it. We know that C Mike Pouncey (hip) will not play after not practicing all week, but there are many other questions to be answered. WR Mike Williams (shoulder) TE Virgil Green (quad) RG Trai Turner (knee) and RT Bryan Bulaga (hamstring) are listed as questionable and will be game-time decisions.
Williams has been limited all week for Los Angeles and Turner and Bulaga are more recent additions to the injury report. With Pouncey not able to play and both Turner and Bulaga less than 100 percent, perhaps the loss of Atkins for the Bengals won’t be as tumultuous.
Pouncey’s replacement at center is expected to be left guard Dan Feeney, who will move over one spot. Forrest Lamp would be taking Feeney’s spot at left guard in that case, per Gilbert Manzano of the Orange County Register.
Expect Dan Feeney to play center and Forrest Lamp at left guard with Mike Pouncey likely out Sunday vs Bengals #Chargers— Gilbert Manzano (@GManzano24) September 11, 2020
