Who will win Bengals vs. Chargers?

Will the Bengals win the first game of the Joe Burrow era, or will the Chargers steal one on the road?

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Los Angeles Chargers Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Joe Burrow era starts in Cincinnati just as the Tyrod Taylor era starts in Los Angeles.

Who will take home the win?

The long awaited season opener is just one day away as the Bengals host the Chargers.

The last time these two teams met up, the quarterbacks were Philip Rivers and Jeff Driskell. Both are gone and each quarterback on the field will make their first start for their respective teams.

One of the more interesting matchups going into this game was Pro Bowl 3-technique Geno Atkins vs. Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey. However, both are going to be inactive so neither will play.

Jonah Williams will make his NFL debut at left tackle, and it will be a doozy going up against Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. Bobby Hart will have also his hands full on the other side of the line.

The Chargers secondary is loaded with talent, even without star safety Derwin James. Pro Bowl CB Casey Hayward admits that the Bengals’ skill position group is one of the best in the league. The most exciting part about this matchup will be A.J. Green’s return.

One final matchup that will be notable will be to see how the Bengals linebackers cover RB Austin Ekeler and TE Hunter Henry. Josh Bynes and Germaine Pratt will start at LB, but the Bengals drafted Logan Wilson for his coverage ability, so he should see some playing time.

Bengals fans are optimistic about this season, but Bovada has the Chargers as three point favorites.

Who will be victorious? Will the Bengals win their home opener? Will Burrow win his NFL debut? Or will the veteran Taylor lead the Chargers to the win column?
