It’s finally happened. Joe Burrow has made his Bengals debut, while A.J. Green made his long-awaited return after missing all of 2019 due to injury.
The two Bengals made their 2020 debuts Sunday as Cincinnati played host to the Chargers. It didn’t take long for Burrow and Green to hook up for what hopes to be the first of many connections in the coming years.
It came on the Bengals’ second offensive possession, as Burrow took a play-action pass and threw a strike to Green for an 11-yard gain and first down.

Green would catch a four-yard pass later in the drive before the offense stalled and was forced to punt. He now has two grabs on two targets for 15 yards in his return early in the first quarter.
Hopefully, we’ll see many more of these, though Green is in a contract year after being franchised tagged. But as long as he can stay healthy and produce, I feel confident the Bengals ultimately sign him to a long-term contract.
