Bengals vs. Browns injury report: Geno Atkins still out; Randy Bullock looks good to go

Atkins looks like he’ll miss a second-straight game.

It looks like the Bengals will be without Geno Atkins and Shawn Williams again in Week 2. Both defenders were sidelined during Tuesday’s practice after missing Week 1, so we shouldn’t expect them to suit up Thursday against the Browns.

It’s not a real surprise given that NFL players who are too injured to play in Sunday games rarely are able to go when they have the short turnaround that comes with playing a Thursday Night Football game.

Making matters worse is Atkins’ backup, Mike Daniels is battling a groin injury that’s sidelined him for two straight practices now. If he’s also out, the Bengals will have to start either Christian Covington or Andrew Brown in his place.

Starting guard Xavier Su’a-Filo is still not practicing due to his ankle injury. Zac Taylor said Monday that Su’a-Filo will be out a few weeks, so he could end up going on IR since players only have to stay on it for three weeks this season.

The good news for these injured guys is the Bengals will get three extra days of rest between Thursday and their Week 3 matchup with the Eagles.

Starting defensive end Sam Hubbard fully practiced today as he battles a knee injury that limited him Monday.

As for kicker Randy Bullock, he was able to practice fully today despite battling injuries to both of his calves. In case he can’t go, the Bengals reportedly claimed Austin Seibert off waivers from the Browns.
