The Bengals’ defense has been the unit most banged up for Cincinnati thus far in 2020.
Last week, they saw the return of role players Mike Daniels and Shawn Williams. Now as the team enters Week 4 of the regular season, a couple more ailments have popped up on the latest injury report.
Logan Wilson (concussion) and Mackensie Alexander (ribs/hamstring) both missed practice on Wednesday with their respective injuries. It’s unclear when each injury happened on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles as neither one was officially reported, but each one must be significant enough to keep them out of the first practice of the week.
Wilson and Alexander were joined by Daniels, Carlos Dunlap, and A.J. Green on the sideline, but the other three just had rest days.
In terms of positive news, Geno Atkins (shoulder) was listed as limited on Wednesday. This was the first time Atkins has practiced since injuring his shoulder exactly one month ago during an intrasquad scrimmage. This is the first crucial step for Atkins to make his 2020 debut.
Michael Jordan (knee) and Darius Phillips (knee) were also limited on Wednesday. It should be noted that Phillips dealt with a knee injury last year that landed him on the Reserve/Injured list for half the season. Hopefully the same knee isn’t flaring up again.
Fred Johnson (wrist) also appeared on the report but was a full participant in practice.
