The Bengals may keep up to seven or even eight wide receivers on their initial 53-man roster, but they still need to cut a few more players.
One of them is Trenton Irwin, per Cincinnati.com’s Tyler Dragon.
#Bengals have cut WR Trenton Irwin, per a source. He’ll likely be on the team’s practice squad.

After going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, Irwin signed with the Miami Dolphins as college free agent. He was waived by Dolphins on during final cuts of last year and went unclaimed. The Bengals signed him to their practice squad on after Week 4 of the regular season. He stayed on the practice squad until the last week of the season, when he made his NFL debut against the Cleveland Browns.
Irwin was kept on the roster throughout the offseason, but was never anything more than a reserve at the receiver position. Due to an expanded practice squad this season, Irwin has a good chance of being added back to the team’s practice squad if he clears waivers.
