The Bengals are waiving wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge, according to Tyler Dragon.

Lodge was originally a college free agent signee of the Buccaneers in May of 2019. After getting waived during final cuts, Lodge was a free agent for most of the 2019 season. The Bengals’ signed Lodge to their practice squad in December, then to a futures contract after the season.

In college, Lodge was a four-year player for the Ole Miss Rebels, playing with notable receivers Laquon Treadwell, former Bengal Cody Core, A.J. Brown, and D.K. Metcalf. In 2017 and 2018, Lodge finished second in receiving yards for the Rebels. In total, he accumulated 1,790 yards on 122 receptions and 14 touchdowns over the course of his college career.

Lodge was facing long odds to make the 53-man roster with this position so deep. And with reports that fellow receiver Trenton Irwin is likely being signed to the practice squad, it appears Lodge won’t get a spot there either.
