For the Bengals, there are no big surprises. The only notable change is Vonn Bell taking over Shawn Williams’ starting safety spot. However, Williams missed much of training camp with a calf injury and is highly questionable for Week 1, so it makes sense to already have Bell penciled in as the starter. But if Williams is active, he’ll get a heavy dose of defensive snaps as well.
As expected, Bobby Hart is the starting right tackle with Fred Johnson backing up both the right and left sides.
The starting receivers are A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd and John Ross, while Auden Tate and second-round pick Tee Higgins are listed as backups.
The two starting linebackers for the nickle defense are Josh Bynes and Germaine Pratt. Third-round pick Logan Wilson is listed as Bynes’ backup, while the same is true for fourth-round pick Akeem Davis-Gaither behind Pratt.
What were your big takeaways from the Bengals’ first official depth chart of 2020?
