Joe Burrow was the Heisman Trophy winner, National Champion, and first overall pick of the draft. He has some serious brand power behind him.

Burrow was on pace to win Rookie of the Year before his injury against the Washington Football Team. Even though his season ended early, fans had already bought more Joe Burrow jerseys than that of almost every other rookie in the NFL.

According to ESPN, Burrow came in second among the 2020 draft class in jersey sales, losing out to Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who finished third overall. Burrow finished right ahead of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and Cowboys wide receiver Ceedee Lamb, who was fourth non-quarterback among all NFL players.

It seems like Burrow jerseys were flying off the press before the draft even started.

If Bengals fans haven’t been buying Burrow jerseys, they have been recycling their Carson Palmer as far back as the Super Bowl.

Not only has Burrow’s jersey been taking off, but other clothing items he has worn has become an instant fashion staple in Cincinnati. For instance, he wore a shirt that displayed the 740 area code when he has named the first overall pick, but Nike didn’t sell the shirt until they gave into the demand.

There is no word that his SpongeBob pocket square is available for retail, but give it time.
