Ja’Marr Chase is unguardable vs. man coverage; wins NFL Rookie of the Week award

Following his big performance in the Cincinnati Bengals’ loss to the Packers, Ja’Marr Chase has been named the Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week.

Ja’Marr Chase should start preparing himself for being double—and maybe triple—teamed from here on out. That’s just how good he’s been.

The rookie wide receiver simply cannot be covered by any one man. Joe Burrow has a perfect QB rating of 158.3 when targeting Chase in man coverage.

And the wide receiver is first in the entire league against single coverage in terms of yards (405), touchdowns (five), and Pro Football Focus’ grading system (93.4).

Forget about offensive rookie of the year. At this point, Chase is looking like one of the most valuable players in the NFL.
