The Cincinnati Bengals absolutely annihilated a beat-up Detroit Lions team. Even at full strength, Detroit was likely to lose despite being at home.
That said, the Bengals are now 4-2 following their most recent victory, but things are about to heat up after a first six weeks that featured games against Chicago, Jacksonville, and Detroit.
For their second divisional matchup, the Bengals will head to take on the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are coming off a dominating victory over the Chargers 34-6 and had a crazy come-from-behind win against the Colts the week prior.
Given the venue and each team’s trend, the Ravens are entering their Week 7 matchup as 6.5-point favorites, meaning the Bengals will be touchdown underdogs on the road, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
This is not a surprising spread, especially after the strong Baltimore performance in Week 6.
So far this season, the Bengals are 3-3 against the spread. The best part about their newfound strength is their defensive prowess. If they’re going to hang with the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens, they’re going to have to limit Baltimore on the ground. There should be hope that this great defensive line, along with the much-improved Logan Wilson and linebacking group, are able to contain Jackson.
This is a pretty solid spread for those wanting to back the Bengals, and if I were looking to bet this spread, I’d keep an eye on it throughout the week to see if it rises to 7 or even 7.5 after the Ravens’ crushing victory over the surging Justin Herbert and Chargers.
The Bengals currently give up the 10th-fewest rushing yards per game. If they can halt the Ravens’ dynamic offense, they’ll have a good chance to cover.
The Ravens are also 3-3 against the spread so far this season.
