The Cincinnati Bengals were back in action Sunday as they faced off with their division rival, the Baltimore Ravens.
Unfortunately, the Bengals’ streak of winning 11 straight coin tosses came to an end.
After each team was forced to punt, the Bengals put together an eight-play drive that set them up for a 52-yard field goal from Evan McPherson to take a 3-0 lead.
Early in the second quarter, the Ravens would get some rhythm on offense, but the Bengals’ defense didn’t break holding them to a field goal, 3-3.
Two drives later, Joe Burrow dialed up a deep pass to CJ Uzomah on National Tight Ends Day for the 55-yard touchdown to reclaim the lead 10-3.
The Ravens were able to answer with a 75-yard TD drive of their own to make it a 10-all ballgame.
Cincinnati got the ball back with just under two minutes left in the half, and Burrow put together an outstanding drive capped off with a 30-yard field goal to send the Bengals into the break with a 13-10 lead.
It was a wild start to the second half, as the Ravens scored in just three plays to take the 17-13 lead.
However, the Bengals answered right back in just four plays as Burrow hit Uzomah again, this time for a 32-yard touchdown to make it 20-17.
The stout defense forced the Ravens to punt again, and the Bengals had another quick strike as Burrow hit Ja’Marr Chase on a slant, and the rookie took it 82 yards to the house to extend the lead to 27-17.
From that point on it, was pure domination by the Bengals, as they forced a punt followed by two straight turnovers on downs. Two of the three stops were followed by touchdowns from Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine to give the Bengals a dominating 41-17 lead.
The Bengals rolled the Ravens with a 24-point win and officially claim first place in the AFC North with a 5-2 record.
