These Cincinnati Bengals are for real, and that was on full display during their 41-17 demolition of the Baltimore Ravens, arguably the franchise’s most significant victory under head coach Zac Taylor.
The Bengals haven’t had many big wins under Taylor, as they totaled just six over his first two years but are now one game away from matching that during the 2021 season alone heading into Week 8.
Of course, the Bengals were becoming a respectable team last year when Joe Burrow was healthy, which included dismantling a Tennessee Titans team that won 11 games and made the NFL playoffs.
However, it’s hard to argue against that Week 15 win over a 12-win Pittsburgh Steelers team with Ryan Finley under center being the biggest win of that season. It was a statement game that ended Pittsburgh’s dominance over Cincinnati since 2015, and it ensured that Taylor would be back for Year 3 after his status was very much in question going into that game.
But today Baltimore wasn’t just some end-of-season spoiler vs. a playoff contender. This win has the Bengals tied for the AFC’s best record at 5-2 and now firmly in the mix for the NFL playoffs.
So, we’ll ask you, was this the biggest win of the Zac Taylor era? Let us know in the comments section!
