The New York Jets are getting a shakeup to their QB room ahead of their matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Following Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots — a game Zach Wilson injured his PCL in and will now miss 2-4 weeks — the Jets have reportedly struck a deal for Philadelphia Eagles QB Joe Flacco.
Sources: The #Eagles are trading Joe Flacco to the #Jets. With Zach Wilson out of action for a few weeks, Flacco is headed back to Florham Park.

Joe Flacco should be up to speed quickly on Mike LaFleur's offense, since Flacco spent 2019 in Denver with Rich Scangarello, who's also from the Kyle Shanahan tree.

With Zach Wilson out multiple weeks, the #Jets QB depth chart now includes Flacco, Mike White and Josh Johnson.
Flacco actually played for the Jets last season, going 0-4 in four starts. He went 2-6 with the Denver Broncos in 2019, which followed an 11-year career with the Baltimore Ravens, so the Bengals have seen plenty of the veteran signal-caller.
The 36-year-old Flacco is past his prime and struggling just to keep a backup spot now, though he’d probably be more effective than Mike White or Josh Johnson would against Cincinnati (we wrote about them earlier today).
The problem is even though he was with the team last year, Flacco has less than a week to get up to speed with New York’s coaching staff, which was completely rebuilt this offseason under new head coach Robert Saleh.
This will certainly add a little more intrigue going into Sunday’s clash in New York, but my guess is Mike White still gets the starting nod.
