UPDATE

As expected, Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been voted the NFL Week 7 Rookie of the Week. He beat out the likes of Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, Bears running back Khalil Herbert, and Patriots QB Mac Jones among others.

In addition, Chase is ranked as ESPN’s No. 1 NFL rookie so far this season, as if there was any doubt.

Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Cincinnati’s Week 7 win over the Baltimore Ravens, the NFL announced Wednesday.

In the 41-17 win over the Ravens, Chase caught eight passes for a Bengals rookie-record 201 receiving yards and a touchdown on Sunday. His receiving yardage total was the highest in the AFC so far this season, and his 82-yard score in the third quarter was the longest pass play of the year in the AFC.

Chase’s 754 receiving yards currently lead the AFC and rank as the most ever by an NFL player through his first seven games.

This is Chase’s first AFC Player of the Week award, though he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for September. Chase is the third Bengal this season to win an AFC Player of the Week award, joining rookie kicker Evan McPherson (special teams, Week 1) and QB Joe Burrow (offense, Week 4).
