Bengals now favored to make the playoffs

Plus a look at the Bengals’ updated over/under win total.

It’s finally happened.

For the first time in what feels like an eternity, the Cincinnati Bengals are favored to make the NFL playoffs.

The latest NFL futures odds from DraftKings have Cincinnati at -200 to make the playoffs. That implies the Bengals have a 66.7% chance of getting to the postseason.

DraftKings also has the Bengals’ updated over/under for regular-season wins set at 9.5. The over moneyline is -150, which implies the Bengals have a 60% chance of winning more than 9.5 games.

It’s not completely out of the question Cincinnati gets to nine wins over the next four games, which come against the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers. My guess is the Bengals will be favored in three of them, while at Las Vegas will be close to a pick ‘em.

The Bengals have a tough stretch over the final six games, but the toughest opponents — the Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens — all come to Cincinnati, who just won at Baltimore last week.

Couple that with very winnable games vs. the San Francisco 49ers and at the Denver Broncos, it’s easy to find a path for 10+ wins.

But first things first. Beat the Jets.
