Bengals leaders show united front at press conference

It is clear that the voices in the Bengals locker room are mature beyond their years.

The Cincinnati Bengals have seen just about every way to lose a game over the past five years. This loss to the New York Jets just seems to be the most recent.

We as fans can be upset, but then we just move along with our lives. We aren’t in the building or on the field in the days leading up to the game. It is in those days that this team can truly show who they are with their preparation for the Cleveland Browns.

The leaders on this team set the tone for this week right after the game with a joint press conference that included team captains Tyler Boyd, Joe Mixon and Jessie Bates.

It is a long season, and it is good to see this is the response. It sounded like in years past that this is where we’d see some finger pointing in the locker room or at coaches.

It seems ideal to just stay focused and right a ship that just handled two of the biggest mountains that have stood in Cincinnati’s path for the past couple of years in the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. This is a young team still with Joe Burrow at the helm.

The captains aren’t going to allow this team to start to roll over after one bad loss.
