Pointless November Mock Draft

This was a dumb and futile exercise. Pro Football Network mock draft before the end of the season, free agency, combine, pro days, etc. I also don't watch college football, so I have no idea what I'm talking about in terms of prospects.

Let's do this.

Bengals have the 17th pick. Saints want to trade picks 21 and 52 for Bengals' picks 17 and 81 to get a QB. Trade accepted. Bengals end up with picks 21, 50, 52, 120, 136, 159, 197, and 237.

Pick #21: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati - 6'3", 200lbs. BIG. College QBs just avoid throwing his way (apparently). Brings the Sauce. Hopefully he plays smarter and more aggressive than their last big 1st round corner, Dre Kirkpatrick.

Pick #50: David Ojabo, Edge, Michigan - 6'5", 250lbs. Never heard of him. According to his athletic profile on Michigan's website he has both 10 and 8 sacks this year. I'll split the difference and say he has 9. He was born in Scotland, so that's cool. He and Ossai can rotate with Hubbard and Hendrickson next year - the 'H-Men' and the "O-Men' on the Edge. So long Wyatt Ray and Khalid Kareem.

Pick #52: Ed Ingram, Guard, LSU - 6'4", 320lbs. Move Carman to RT, Ed Ingram can compete for RG with Adeniji, and Riley Reiff can stay around as a backup/mentor/veteran leader in the young offensive line room. Keeps the LSU pipeline going.

Pick #120: Ricky Stromberg, Center, Arkansas - 6'4", 310lbs. I wanted Creed Humphrey in the 2nd and then the 3rd round this year when he was available at both picks. Stromberg competes with Hopkins for the starting Center spot. Hopkins has looked like the weakest link on the line while coming back from a torn ACL.

Pick #136: Trae Barry, TE, Boston College - 6'6", 244lbs. Prototypical TE size. Cold weather player is a plus, I guess. Competes for 3rd spot behind Uzomah and Sample.

Pick #159: Jermaine Waller, CB, Virginia Tech - 6'1", 180lbs. He seems thin, but he has 4 picks this year. Waynes has to be gone in the offseason and Apple is either gone too, or retained for a reduced role/veteran depth. Keep adding bodies to the CB room. I'm sure he would compete for special teams role.

Pick #197: Amari Gainer, LB, Florida State - 6'3", 237lbs. Sure. Adds Linebacker/special teams depth.

Pick #237 Marcel Brooks, WR, TCU - 6'2", 194lbs. Slaying defenses this year with 4 catches and 39 yards on the season. The WR room is put on notice.
