For those of you hoping to see the Cincinnati Bengals sign Trai Turner, I have some bad news for you.

As it stands, the Bengals are in desperate need of help at both offensive guard spots, and Turner is arguably the top option still left in free agency.

However, Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Bengals haven’t reached out to Turner thus far.

Turner, an eighth-year player in 2021, has appeared in 93 career games (89 starts) with the Carolina Panthers (2014-19) and Los Angeles Chargers (2020). He’s coming off the worst year of his career as he finished 2020 with a 34.5 PFF grade while battling a groin injury throughout the season.

The five-time Pro Bowl selection is still just 27 (turns 28 in June), so there’s reason to believe he can still play at a high level with the right coaching. New Bengals offensive line coach Trai Turner is certainly one of the league’s best o-line coaches, so perhaps he could get a healthy Turner back to his Pro Bowl form.

Saying this, it doesn’t appear Turner is a legitimate option for the Bengals at this time. They have scheduled a free agent visit with Nick Easton, so perhaps he’s their top interior o-line option for the time being.
