The Cincinnati Bengals had another expensive offseason, signing seven free agents.
While the team lost players like wide receiver A.J. Green, cornerback William Jackson and defensive end Carl Lawson, they added star defensive end Trey Hendrickson among other big-name signings.
Those signings have now been issued a new jersey number for the upcoming season.
As for the player that signed a four-year, $60 million deal, Hendrickson will be wearing No. 91, the number he wore last season with the Saints as well.
Two other players wore that number in the past two seasons as well, but it will be Hendrickson’s in 2021. The hope is that the combination of Hendrickson and D.J. Reader will create a powerful force and one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.
Cornerback Mike Hilton will wear No. 21. Fellow cornerback Chidobe Awuzie will wear No. 22. Those two will help anchor a defense that was oftentimes burnt on the edges last season.
As for the four others, defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi will wear No. 65; tackle Riley Reiff will wear No. 71; cornerback Eli Apple will wear No. 20, and tight end Thaddeus Moss will be No. 81.
Of course, there will be a lot more new jersey numbers being issued in the coming weeks once the NFL Draft takes place and undrafted free agent signings are made.
