Ja’Marr Chase is officially a Cincinnati Bengal, where he’ll reunite with quarterback Joe Burrow, whom he caught 84 passes for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns from at LSU in 2019.
When breaking down the pick, Bengals third-year head coach Zac Taylor had high praise for Chase, calling him one of the best receivers he’s ever evaluated.

Not only was Taylor impressed by what he saw on tape of Chase and his potential when scouting him, he also took into an endorsement from Burrow into account.
As Burrow reportedly told Taylor, he’d have an “excitement level of a 10 if the Bengals drafted Chase.”

That’s a pretty strong endorsement from QB1 on his college teammate.
Did the Bengals make the right call?
Time will tell. They surely need offensive line help, and not drafting Oregon Ducks tackle Penei Sewell, who fell to No. 7 tp the Detroit Lions, could come back to haunt them.
However, one things for sure: Chase is a playmaker that the team’s franchise quarterback wanted in orange and black, while the head coach also appears very excited about what the stud pass-catcher can do in the pros.
