The Cincinnati Bengals have traded the 38th overall pick to the New England Patriots.
The Bengals now have the 46th pick, as well as two extra fourth-round picks, which has been a money round in the past with guys like Geno Atkins, Andrew Billings and Carl Lawson going there.
With the No. 38 pick, New England took Alabama Crimson Tide defensive tackle Christian Barmore, someone Cincinnati was highly unlikely to take at this point.
The Patriots traded the 46th, 122nd and 139th picks to Cincinnati for the right to Alabama DL Christian Barmore at 38.

Personally, I would have loved to have seen Cincinnati take one of Teven Jenkins/Samuel Cosmi/Liam Eichenberg here, all of whom have a decent chance of being gone at 48. That tells me the Bengals may be planning to draft someone they feel confident will be there later in the round, which means it could be someone that will be viewed as a reach.
Hopefully, whoever it is can protect Joe Burrow well. That needs to be the goal with this next pick.
