10 draft picks, six college free agents, and a handful of hopeful others made up the Cincinnati Bengals rookie minicamp session on Friday inside Paul Brown Stadium. It was the first time we got to see the newest additions to the team take the field together and run drills amongst each other.

Headlining the day was fifth-overall pick Ja’Marr Chase, who very much looked the part of an athletic No. 1 receiver. Chase and his fellow rookies were in shorts and pad-less jerseys, but that’s football in May for you.

This was the only practice of minicamp, as the team had until Sunday to get a session in before the next phase of the offseason program begins. Local media was able to capture videos and images of Chase and other new Bengals on the field for the first time.

Here’s a Twitter roundup of the day.

After practice, the rookies stepped behind the mic for Zoom conferences. Chase gave a funny answer when asked about his first impressions of Cincinnati.
