Joe Burrow is preparing for his Week 1 return and got some throws in on Wednesday.

C.J. Uzomah, who is also rehabbing a lower leg injury, caught passes from Burrow, running routes for the first time since Week 2, when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the same game he caught Burrow’s first career passing touchdown.

Just for good measure, Ja’Marr Chase was in on the action.

Kyle Smith first tweeted that Burrow was throwing with Uzomah and Chase. Malik Wright confirmed that it was true, and he is always spot on about things going on inside the Bengals’ organization.

Uzomah later posted on Twitter that he ran routes, though he didn’t mention Burrow or Chase.

A video went viral of Burrow throwing in California with Jordan Palmer in late April. But Wednesday is the first time Burrow has thrown to his teammates, and the first time he has thrown in Cincinnati since the injury.

This is a positive milestone, and further confirms Adam Schefter’s report that Burrow is planning to come back in time for the season opener against the Vikings.

The Cincinnati Bengals had to go on with Uzomah since Week 2 and Burrow since Week 10. Adding the rookie Chase to the mix, and the Bengals will have basically a brand new offense.
