Chad Johnson is confident the Bengals will make a big leap in 2021

The Cincinnati Bengals have improved their roster this offseason, but whether or not they’ve done enough to double their 2019 win total is another story.

The Joe Burrow-led team won four games last season, two of which came after Burrow went down in Week 11. However, he’s progressing well after his torn ACL and is on track to be the team’s starter in Week 1.

That, or the recent addition of No. 5 overall pick Ja’Marr Chase, could be why former superstar receiver Chad Johnson is saying the Bengals will touch nine wins this upcoming season.

Johnson, also known as Ochocinco, gave a bold claim on how well he thinks the Bengals will do in 2021.

“Bengals are gonna have more than eight wins. Book it,” Johnson said via Bleacher Report.

The Draft Kings projected win total currently sits at 6.5. The Browns are at 9.5; the Steelers 8.5; and the Ravens 11.

While nine would be nice, just staying competitive in most games is something most fans would like to see first, but with this young and hungry team, getting wins on the board is important.

That said, Johnson has a track record of sports betting, so it’d be interesting to know if he actually put a couple of bucks on the over. Having always repped the Bengals, there’s no denying that Johnson was always going to put his faith in Burrow.

If Johnson drills his projection, the Bengals will have their best record since 2015, a season in which they won 12 games. This team has the talent, but it must all come together at the right time. Also being in an ultra-difficult AFC North doesn’t help.
