Chad Johnson can not stay out of the news.
Whether it’s betting on Jorge Masvidal to beat Kamaru Usman (Johnson apparently lost $50,000 on that fight) or looking to train up potential Cincinnati Bengals receivers, Johnson is staying in the spotlight.
A former six-time Pro Bowler that has the most receiving yards in Bengals history, Johnson is going to be turning hit focus towards the ring, where he’ll take on a yet-to-be-named fighter in the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul.
Many know that Jake Paul just won his boxing match against Ben Askren. Given how unexciting that fight was, it will be interesting if a card with Mayweather can draw a crowd. I’d put money that the pay-per-view subscriptions will roll in for the fight.
This isn’t the first non-football endeavor that Johnson has partaken in. He also tried his hand at soccer. That said, Johnson will take the ring on June 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
“It’s likely to be a four- or six-round exhibition bout and the opponent has not been finalized yet. The expectation is Johnson, 43, will face another celebrity or athlete rather than a pro boxer,” ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe wrote.
Regardless of who he fights, it’ll be an entertaining bout.
